Candace Owens said

(JTA) – days after a man guilty of making murder threats against a political commentator who had reduced a famous rabbi, Candace Owens identified as a victim.

At the beginning of September, Owens, a right-wing extreme expert, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the late leader of the Chabad Lubavitch Hassidic movement. The comments made during a TV debate with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach were part of the recent hug of the anti-Semitic rhetoric of Owens, which also included Holocaust denial and praise of top-class anti-Semitic voices.

Less than a week after she made the comments on Snowerson, Haim Braverman (47) from Morris Plains, New Jersey, a video on social media that threatens Owen's life, threatened a video for social media, according to the US public prosecutor's office for the District of New Jersey.

In the video, Braverman kept a steel racket and said: “I give you the steel bat. I wouldn't even stop. I would kill you.” He continued: “I threaten a death sentence” against the victim. The US public prosecutor said that he was angry about the commentator's statements about a “prominent, now deceased rabbi that Braverman respected”.

According to the criminal complaint, Braverman was one of the administrators of a group chat called “Real Jewish”. A screenshot of the video in which he threatens Owens shows him how to wear a Kippah. His conviction is planned for September 15, 2025.

In a post on X Tuesday, Owens said that she was victims of Braverman's threats and had been contacted by the FBI. She said that after her comments, her family was in the debate that was in Piers Morgan's talk show “had a number of attacks by disturbed Zionists”.

“Haim wanted to murder me against Shmuley because of my @Piersmorgan debate. Bc I insulted the dead rabbi Menachem Schnennerson, whom many Jews regarded as Messiah,” wrote Owens in one post on X.

In the days since this thread, Owens has continued to tweet about Jews, including the suggestions that the Auschwitz Concentration Camp Site website “participated in Holocaust rejection”.

She published a link to a podcast on the website about myths about the experiments by Nazi Dr. Josef Mengelel with twins. In fact, the website says elsewhere that Mengele has “exposed to all conceivable medical examinations … As soon as these examinations were completed, they were killed with fatal injections.”
