The storms that flow through the DC area this evening (Friday) have demanded two lives due to trees that fall on cars, the police said.

The Frye Road was closed between Manor Drive and Pole Road in Woodlawn after a tree fell on a car and killed a woman, according to the Fairfax County police authority.

“The driver, an adult woman, was died at the crime scene,” said the FCPD at 6:26 p.m.: “Detectives have been examined on site. Please use an alternative route, while the supply crews work for the restoration of downed wires.

Another driver died after a tree on the George Washington Memorial Parkway in the Morningide Lane in Fort Hunt, a spokesman for the US park police, STT. Thomas Twiname. Death has now been reported by DC News.

According to Twiname, the driver was the only person in the vehicle who described death as “tragic”. No further updates are expected, but the police are actively working on the scene.

The GW Parkway is currently closed around the Morningside Lane and Mount Vernon Circle because the police are reacting to a variety of incidents related to Sturm.

“Trees are down everywhere,” Twiname told FFXNOW.

The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department gives an increase in call volume due to the storm. Between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., the units reacted to 14 reports about drained wires, two trees in houses and a two-alarm house fire.

According to the scanner traffic, the house fire occurred on the Copperglow Trail in the Fairfax station before 5:30 p.m. A second alarm had to be called to draw alternative units after a tree that blocked the Hampton Road prevented an engine from reaching the scene via the Henderson Road to the north.

“Please be careful when you are on the go and report broken trees and wires,” said the fire brigade. “Call 911 when the situation is life -threatening or there is an immediate security problem.”

The storm has also taken power of thousands of Fairfax County inhabitants, especially in the southeastern part of the district.

From 7:30 p.m., 30,363 customers of Dominon Energy customers in the district were affected in the district from 7:30 p.m.
