Tilda Swinton to play in “Death in her hands” for filmmaker David Lowery

At the Berlin Film Festival in February, Tilda Swinton said that she was looking forward to a long break from acting, in which she would open a new chapter in her life in a career over the big screen. But she is not quite ready to bow.

Swinton will play in an adaptation of Ottessa Moshfegh's cult novel Death in her hands for David Lowery. The author will write and lead the film for See-Saw films and a team of producers, including Iain Canning, Emile Sherman and Jeanie Igoe with the executing producers Simon Gillis and Ann Phillips.

Published by Penguin Press on June 23, 2020, Death in her hands is described according to today's publication as “an anarchic WHoodunnit, a psychological thriller and a striking portrait of a woman who tries to take control of her own history”. Swinton will portray Vesta Gul, a recently widowed woman who comes across a terrifying handwritten note while walking in the forests near her house. It is: “Her name was Magda. Nobody will ever know who killed her. I wasn't. Here is her body.” Vesta is unable to find a body or blood, and is obsessed with finding the truth about Magda's fate.

“I am a devoted fan of Ottessa Moshfegh and the opportunity to translate Death in her hands On the big screen it was in a way an underpash to spend a lot of time with being obsessed with their prose. But now the trick is on, “said Lowery in a statement.” The script that the novel will soon be will soon be a film, and I am suddenly more aware of the fact that the adaptation of this special work is a faded challenge – everyone who has read the novel will understand why. But I am ready for it and I am encouraged to have so wonderful employees at my side: the whole team from See -Saw, Jeanie, Jeanie, Jeanie. Incredible Tilda Swinton, from whom I know that
