YouTube tests that blur video miniature views for “mature content”

Google carries out a new test on YouTube, in which the thumbnail views for videos with “mature content” are blurred.

In his latest test, YouTube blurred thumbnails for videos that appear in search of ripe content, e.g. B. Searches that contain sexual topics.

Google explains:

We experiment with a new function that offers all users more secure viewfinder experiences. For search queries that often contain sexual topics, the search results can indicate blurred thumbnail views. The video title, the channel name and the description remain visible. Users have the option of exposing miniature views. The aim of this test is to understand whether this type of functions helps users to accidentally see content that follow the community guidelines from YouTube but may be sensitive. We roll out this test on a small percentage of the spectators.

This change only appears for a “small percentage” of the audience, and the exact appearance of the test still has to be shown.
