Marion Jones about the part of the Honolulu Triathlon decades after the scandal

Marion Jones was once known as the fastest woman in the world. As an elite athlete -she won three gold medals and two bronze medals at the 2000 Summer Olympics.

File – Marion Jones from the United States at the Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, on September 23, 2000.

But she was robbed by her medals after she had admitted that she had lied to federal investigators about the use of performance disorders. In 2007 she held an emotional press conference on the same day, on which she owed two cases of lies under oath.

That was almost 20 years ago. Today Jones is defined as a mother, a former athlete and triathlete.

She landed on O'ahu this week before the Honolulu triathlon on Sunday. HPR spoke to Jones about the return to the limelight – and about the lessons in resistance that she would like to teach others.

The Honolulu triathlon Starts this Sunday in Ala Moana Beach Park. The bicycle content extends along the Ala Moana Boulevard and the Nimitz Highway. You can find more information on road closures Here.
