Peoria doctor identified as victims killed by Monmouth Crash; Practiced in Galesburg, Monmouth | Wgil 93.7 FM

A PEORIA doctor died on Thursday in an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer in the US 67 near the 185th Avenue in Monmouth.

According to the state police in Illinois, the crash occurred on Thursday at 2:32 p.m. Warren County's forensic doctor, Al McGuire, identified the victim as Dr. Syed Imam, 47, from Peoria, with OSF Healthcare, which was declared dead at 2:50 p.m. IMAM, was a nephrologist at the OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg and OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth.

An OSF health test that WGIL is provided is said:

“We are deeply sad to confirm that Dr. Syed Imam, an estimated member of the medical staff at the OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg and the OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and three children as well as the many employees and patients who were affected by his life and service.”

The investigation continues without the cause of publishing.

The US 67 to the north was closed for several hours, whereby the traffic in 180th Avenue was diverted until 8.49 p.m. on Thursday.
