Michigan State Police Trooper shot, suspicious of Detroit overpassed

A soldier of the state police in Michigan (MSP) was shot during a traffic stop that left a suspect in Detroit on Friday evening in Detroit.

What we know:

MSP said the incident occurred during a traffic stop on Wyoming above the lodge. Officials say that the alleged driver took out a gun and started a shootout.

Both the shooter and the officer were shot.

The soldier was taken to a hospital in which he is expected to survive his injuries.

In the meantime, the suspect, a 41-year-old man from Highland Park, was shot, according to the authorities.

What we don't know:

The state police had not identified the suspect on Friday evening.
