Sports highlights of the Saginaw region: Lightning shifts follow the regional finale at Cadillac

The athletes of Division 2 Track Regional in Cadillac weren't quite as fast as a flash.

Because lightning finally won.

The 1,600 relay teams will return to Cadillac on Monday to end the route regionally after lightning delays had postponed the final event of the meeting.

After 16 events, Petoskey had a three-point lead of 78-75 via Alma for place # 1 with Swan Valley third (63.5) and Freeland Seventh (37). Petoskey also led in the Girls regionally with 118.5 points with Swan Valley Sechste (51), Freeland Seventh (48) and Alma Eighth (27.5).

Thomas Larson led Alma with victories in 1,600 (4: 23.25) and 3,200 (9: 43.66), whereby the Panthers also come first in the 3,200 season. The Boston Streeng-Erouger won Swan Valley in the 200 (: 23.53) and 400 (: 49.88). Freeland's Zander Wheatley took first place in the 110 hurdles (: 15.37) and in Hochsprung (6-2).

Sydney Kuhn from Swan Valley dominated the girl with victories in the 200 (: 24.87), 400 (: 54.03) and 300 hurdles (: 45.33).

Boys' route

Division 1 at Traverse City Central: Midland High called for a regional championship of Division 1 with 123 points, followed by Traverse City Central with 114 and Heritage with 79th Maxwell Stoecker, Midland gave a few victories at the start (60-8) and discus (175-7), where LJ Gallihuhh the 200 (: 22.33), Cameron Cochran (4: 29.67) and Matthew Berg the 110 hurdles (: 15.32). Cochran ran a leg with the winner of 3,200 seasons. Nick Coleman from Heritage took first place in the 400 (: 49.78) and ran a leg with the awards of 800 seasons, while Saginaw United received the first places by Jamarion Goodman in the 800s (1: 57.16) and Blake Jones in the high jump (6-4).

Division 2 in Frankenmuth: Frankenmuth prompted Flint powers for the regional title and scored 111.5 points, with the powers scored 105. Birch Run was 11. (17) and Bridgeport 13. (1). Brett Magnus led the Frankenmuth Boys and led a personal best of 4: 23.70 to win the 1,600 meter run. Niko Mamaladze added a first in the disc with a throw of 155-6.

Division 3 in Vassar: Valley Lutheraner called for the regional championship with 102 points with Caro third (75), Vassar Fifth (49), Millington Fifth (49), Reese Eight (38) and Carrollton Neunte (35). Jack Strieter achieved a victory with a personal record in the 400 (: 51.21) and added the 800 relays of the Chargers with Hayden Stout, Andrew Kunisch and Robby Samborn and the 1,600 season with Zamborn, Trent Schiavone and Wheatley Rodammer. Caros Luke Herron took first place in 1,600 (4: 33.44) and 3,200 (9: 59.83), whereby the Tiger also achieved victories of Jacob Moore in the 800 (1: 59.85) and Luke Joslyn in the Discus (148-4). Millington Dallas Walsh took first place in the 200 (: 23.38), and Vassars Kendall Horning claimed the title “Put” (47-7).

Girls' route

Division 1 at Traverse City Central: Traverse City West called for the team title with 119 points with the fourth (81), Midland Dow Fifth (61) and Midland High Sixster (46). Jordynn Young won the 100 with a personal record time of: 11.97, while Willow Mason claimed the 200 (: 25.07). Young, Mason and Kaya Arnold drove legs on Heritage winners of 800 seasons and 1,600 seasons. Dows Victoria Garces organized a personal record time in the 800 (2: 14.56), while Emilia Garces won the 3,200 (11: 21.40). Gwen Thill added another first for Dow in the high jump (5-2). Sydney Roberts won the 400 for Midland High in: 56.07.

Division 2 in Frankenmuth: Frankenmuth finished 131.6 points with the regional title. Flint Powers was second (80.6), Bridgeport 11. (19) and Birch Run 12. (14). Sara Leach has the Eagles with a victory in the long jump (16-9 ¾) and one leg on the winner 800 season (1: 49.23) with Lainey Swackhamer, Dani Titsworth and Madison Geer. Frankenmuth also won the 3,200 season (9: 50.82) behind Lucy Conzelmann, Elise Barden, Gabby Cleveland and Natalie Foltz.

Division 3 at Vassar: New Lothrop administered Valley Lutheran for the team title and scored 112 points for Valley Lutheran's 101. Caro War fifth (56), Millington Sixster (54), Vassar Seventh (37) and Reese sixth (36). McKenzie Derusha gave Valley Lutheran places in the 100 hurdles (: 16.41) and 300 hurdles (: 49.37). Millington received regional titles from Chloe Basner in the 100 (: 12.52) and Abigail rice in 3,200 (12: 07.28), whereby Taylor von Reese claims the 800 (2: 29.87). Caro won the 800 season and 1,600 season, with Na'hayla Watkins, Jordyn Thomas and Taelor Stephens walking into legs.

Young lacrosse

Heritage 14, Lapeer 2: Elden Wideman and Colin Workman each scored three goals and led the legacy to a win in the first round of the regional tournament. Kalen Hood-Davis led the Hawks with eight floor balls, while Josh Larsen had 14 parades in the goal. The Heritage will be played on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Midland Community Stadium at 7:00 p.m. in a regional semi -finals in a regional semi -finals.

Softball

Bullock Creek 10-10, Shepherd 9-13: Dakota Swift won the victory in game 1 and achieved two out of five innings. Bryanna Herron, Charlie Bass and Delaney violet met doubles for the Lancers. Swift and Lillian Wassmann competed in the loss of Game 2 for Bullock Creek.

Hemlock 16-20, Valley Lutheran 0-1: Olivia Parker and Sarah Boyer each had two goals in the Doubleheader for Valley Lutheran.

Coleman 8-7, Carson City-Kristal 4-6: Isabelle Lewis and Aubrie Ellison each had three goals and two RBIs to lead Coleman to the victory of game 1. Kendall Allen, Eliza Lewis and Klaira Sysak added two goals each. Allen beat 13 to win the victory. In game 2, Coleman scored three runs in eighth place and recorded the victory. Isabelle Lewis led the offensive with three goals, while Sydnee Bovee, Allen, Eliza Lewis, Sysak and Elley Johnson added two goals.

baseball

Michigan Lutheran Seminary 9-4, Carrollton 4-4: Will Salgat had three goals to run MLS in the Tri-Valley conference victory in game 1. Eli Lewis and Noah Reif added two goals and two RBIs, with Owen Mason running twice and drove in two runs. Caleb Martin hit seven and allowed two goals in five innings for the cardinals. Andrew Spies had two goals for Carrollton. Game 2 was called 4: 4 after four Innings.

Shepherd 6-14, Bullock Creek 1-3: Hunter Habitz threw the Lancers 4 2/3 Inning the clearing of the shutout, while Emerson Johnson had a double and RBI. Matt Griese, Caden Tate and Jaxon Flowers and Mason Streyer each had a goal for Bullock Creek in game 2.

Girl football

Hemlock 1, Bay City John Glenn 1: Izzy Krueger scored Hemlock's lonely goal in a direct free kick, and Taryn Pratt achieved 19 parades for the 7-7-1 huskies. John Glenn (16-4-2) scored the game 1:30 with a goal by Carli Johnson.

Millington 2, Unionville-Sebewaing 1: Millington set up a record of teams with his two goals, scored 66 for the season and broke the record of 65 goals in 2017. Kendra Peterson achieved 12 parades for the 9-7-1 cardinals.

Bullock Creek 2, Clare 1: Clare opened the rating, but Claudia Moses from Bullock Creek tied her with a template by Jillian Dast. It followed her own goal to put the Lancers a 2-1 lead in the lead. Audrie Stoltenberg had four parades for the Lancers who end the regular season with 8-3-5.
