NBA playoffs: New York Knick's brushes Boston Celtics aside to achieve the final of the Eastern Conference

The Knicks reached the final of the conference for the first time in 25 years and ended the one-year NBA title of the Boston Celtics with amazing ease and on Friday evening in game 6, repressed a 119-81 victory in game 6.

On the way to her press conference after the game, Josh Hart Mikal Bridges showed a video of a fan that climbed onto a light bar outside the arena.

“I'm new here, but I only know how much New York loves his sports, especially the Knicks,” said Bridges. “So, excited to be part of it. You enjoy it for us now, but obviously we have a lot more to go.”

Brunson and OG Anunoby each scored 23 points for the Knicks that will compete against the Indiana Pacers, the same team that they met at their last conference final in 2000. Game 1 is on Wednesday evening in New York.

“It is a great victory. We look at it. You look at it, but you also understand that you have to prepare for the next series,” said Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau. “The Pacers are a great team and we have to be ready.”

The Knicks had no longer won a playoff series on their home floor since the 1999 East final. So celebrating started late in the first half and was sure to continue deep into the arena.

Bridges scored 22 points and Karl-Anthony Towns had 21 for the Knicks, whose 38-point victory lead was their largest in a post-season game.

“We didn't have the same team this year that we had last year,” said Celtics Guard Derrick White. “Every year it is another team. We had a goal at the beginning of the year and are too short.”
