Adu-Boahene, woman and 2 others who were officially charged with alleged corruption scandal of $ 7 million


The Attorney General Dominic Ayine officially charged the general director of the former National Signal Bureau (NSB), General Director Kwabena Adu Boahene, and his wife Angela Adjei Boateng in the amount of several million Cedis.

Together with two others, Mildred Donkor and Advantage Solutions Limited, they are charged with eleven crimes, including theft, money laundering, anesthesia due to incorrect preliminary walls and deliberately financial losses.

According to the letter submitted in court on Wednesday, April 30, Mr. Adu-Boahene, who was too responsible for monitoring the critical national security infrastructure, including contracts with foreign companies, was too responsible for buying a contract with an Israeli company, ISC Holdings Limited, for $ 7 million.

In total, ADU-Boahene is said to have transferred around 49 million GHS (around $ 7 million) from the NSB funds to its personal accounts and incorrectly justify these transactions as payments for the cyber defense systems together with its accomplice.

BNC was created by Adu-Boahene and his wife when he was still the NSB boss, and the company was used for the transaction of the security system bought by the Israeli company ISC Holdings Limited.

While an initial payment of 9.5 million GHS (about 1.75 million US dollars) was transferred to ISC Holdings, no further payments were made to the company.

Instead, the following funds were diverted for personal use, including investments and transmissions to unknown parties.

In the court documents it was claimed that ADU-Boahene, his wife and Mildred “therefore an elaborate criminal company with A4 (Advantage Solutions Limited) were carried out as a holding company through which the stolen funds were indebted and washed”.

The documents added that A4 as a holding company received a significant part of the stolen funds for several subsidiaries, including the private BNC, which were then invested in the business activities of the subsidiaries by their shareholders and directors, including investments in treasury bills, real estate, the production of fertiliscoriscories and the rental of luxury cars to translate customers.

Mr. Adu Boahene was arrested on Thursday, March 20, at Kotoko International Airport after returning from abroad through the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) with regard to the scandal, a deposit was later granted.

In the meantime, Mr. Adu Boahene and his wife have a defamation against the Attorney General and the Minister of Justice Dr. Dominic Ayine submitted for defamation about statements that were held on the matter during a press conference on March 24, 2025.

In the lawsuit, the plaintiffs stated that Dr. Ayine's public remarks incorrectly represented them as criminals and fraudsters who had undermined state funds and involved money laundering.
