Israel accuses the ethnic cleaning after more than 140 in Gaza in the last 24 hours Israel

At least 140 Palestinians were killed in Gaza in the last 24 hours, a fatal escalation when Israel was ready to start a large offensive in the besieged area.

Israeli strikes in Gaza strips have killed more than 300 people since Thursday, said Palestinian health officers, one of the deadliest period of war since the burning of ceasefire talks in March. The intensified bomb campaigns came when Israel's overall blockade on humanitarian aid triggered the fears of famine in the Palestinian territory.

“We have received 58 martyrs since midnight, while a large number of victims remain under the rubble. The situation in the hospital is catastrophic,” said Marwan Al-Sultan, the director of the Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza on Saturday. According to Reuters, the number of fatalities in the last 24 hours was at least 146.

The escalation of the attacks was condemned on Friday by the United Nations Human Rights' Property, Volker Türk, who said that the bomb campaign should displace the Gazans and that it corresponds to the “ethnic cleaning”.

“This most recent flood of bombs … and the rejection of humanitarian aid underline that there is a push for a permanent demographic change in the Gaza, which contradicts international law and is synonymous with ethnic cleaning,” he said.

Turk's comments were also repeated by the UN Secretary General António Guterres, who demanded a permanent ceasefire on Saturday at a summit of the Arab league in Baghdad.

Israel said that the bombings were the initial phases of Operation Gideon's Chariot, an expansion of the campaign in Gaza, to “reach all war goals in the Gaza”. The strikes were accompanied by a large group along the borders of the Gaza to determine the “operational control” of parts of the Gaza Strip.

The campaign and the auxiliary blocking on the territory should force Hamas to publish hostages, said Israeli civil servants. The terrorist organization took around 250 hostages in October 2023, which led to the death of around 1,200 people. Fifty -seven hostages are still held by Hamas.

The attacks came when Donald Trump left the Middle East after a four-day visit to the Arab Goländ, in which Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, promised billions in the United States.

The hopes that Trump's visit could again bring progress in the ceasefire talks in Gaza were destroyed after Trump repeated his wish to transform Gaza into a “freedom zone”. This was seen as a probable alluding to his plan of the United States, taking control of the Palestinian territory and transforming it into the “Riviera of the Middle East”.

A ceasefire in January broke out in mid -March after Israel refused to switch to a planned second phase that could have led to the end of the war. The prospects for a permanent ceasefire seemed to be further away, since the Israel security cabinet approved plans in early May that could include the confiscation of the entire Gaza Strip.

Gaza Ceasefire talks were also expected to dominate the summit of the Arab league on which Arab officials met on Saturday. Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said that participation in ministers would support a reconstruction plan for Gaza, a contrast to Trump's offer to take over the Palestinian area. The ministers later promised by 40 million US dollars at reconstruction funds for Gaza and Lebanon.

Later on Saturday, Hamas confirmed a new round of armistice talks with Israel in Katar's Doha. A group official, Taher al-Nono, told Reuters that both sides discussed all topics without “preliminary conditions”.

According to the Palestinian health authorities, Israel's offensive in Gaza, which was launched for the attacks in October 2023 in October 2023, killed around 53,000 people in Gaza.

The widespread hunger and malnutrition among children have also risen after Israel cut off vital humanitarian aid on the territory on March 2. In Gaza there are little medical care due to scarce supplies and repeated Israeli strikes on hospitals and medical facilities.

The UN aid Tom Fletcher pushed a speech of Gaza on Tuesday in a speech in front of the UN Security Council, where he said that the famine was rejected.

Israel has consistently contested that his 10-week blockade in the Gaza leads to hunger. However, Trump admitted on Thursday that “many people in Gaza are starving”.

Israel, who claims that Hamas kidnaps help for the financing of his military, has proposed a plan to distribute help from hubs in Gaza, which are carried out by private contractors and guarded by Israeli troops. The USA supported the plan and a body called Gaza Humanitrian Foundation is to carry out the plan until the end of the month.

Auxiliary groups described the plan as not processed and potentially illegal, since it could lead to forced expulsion. They asked Israel to raise its blockade and rely on the UN -un and other existing humanitarian bodies that have long had experience in transporting help into Gaza strips.

“We can save hundreds of thousands of survivors,” said Fletcher. “We have strict mechanisms to ensure that our help gets civilians and not Hamas.”
