One killed, in shooting in Las Vegas gymnastics with several injured

A shooter entered a Las Vegas Athletic Club on Friday and shot several people, killed one and injured several others.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced in a press release that they had come to the gym on Friday afternoon after receiving reports on a shootout. Upon arrival, the police said that the shooter left the gym and tried to run past the officials, which caused them to fire on the suspect.

After taking him into custody, suspicious medical help was provided. He later died in a nearby hospital, the police said.

It is unclear what the motif of the shooter was. The police did not leave his identity free.

In the gym, the police found a deceased shooting victim and two more with injuries, with one being in a critical condition.

“We are broken by the tragedy that took place in our Northwest Club today,” said the gym in a explanation. “Our prayers are with the victims, families, our members and our team.”

The gym said it was temporarily closed if the shooting of the shootout continues.
