Nerstrand, MN (Kroc-am news)- A man from southern Minnesota lost his life in a crash on Friday afternoon.

Two vehicles were involved in the fatal collision. Both drivers were the sole inmates of the vehicles involved.

The state patrol reacted shortly before 1:45 p.m. in Rice County.

The fatal crash occurred at the intersection of the Hwy. 246 and 170. St. E/Main St. on the outskirts of Nerstad, about 11 miles northeast of Faribault.

A GMC SUV and a Ford SUV towards the west collided at the intersection, according to the state crash report.

67-year-old Craig Eugene Johnson from Nerstad Fore the Ford. He was declared dead at the crime scene, says the state patrol.

The state patrol identified the GMC driver as a 44-year-old Amy Elizabeth Christians from Kenyon. She did not suffer life -threatening injuries and was brought to the St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester for further care.

None of the drivers were under the influence of alcohol. Christians were not stimulated either, according to the state crash report.

The Rice County Sheriff's Office Nerstad Fire and Rescue and North Memorial Ambulance also reacted to death with two vehicles.
