Colton Herta Crash in Indianapolis 500 qualifying today, watch video

Indianapolis-Colton Herta suffers a serious accident on the warm-up round during the qualification of Indianapolis 500 on the 2.5 mile oval by Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The 25-year-old Andretti Global driver turned into curve 1 and the rear hit the outer wall when the car became briefly in the air.

The car almost rested on the head in curve 2. On the rights of the Track Safety Team, Herta rose alone.

After visiting the Infield Care Center, he is released, but needs a new car.

“Fortunately, these accidents look much more scary than they feel,” Herta told the Fox show and said that he had no idea during the training that his car would be so relaxed.

Marcus Armstrong crashed into training on Saturday morning. He was released from the Infield Care Center, although it was not clarified for driving.

Kyffin Simpson and Kyle Larson crashed on Friday during the quick training.

The crash was similar to Hertas in 2022:
