Herta turned upside down on the massive indy 500 qualifying crash

Colton Herta had a massive accident in qualifying for the 2025 Indianapolis 500, lost the back of the car in curve 1 and scratched on the track.

Herta had a strong exercise week and expected that he would be in the fight for Pole and the racing victory at the event, but in his first round only the back of his car could be started in the corner and he was powerless to avoid the enormous accident.

They were able to hear the roller shop scratched over the floor above the floor before the car came to a standstill. It was excited by the AMR security team and Herta and then went to the medical car relatively unassisted, with marshals holding its arms.

Qualifying was delayed by about 30 minutes to clean the route and remove the debris.

“I'm fine,” said Herta to Fox. “Fortunately, these accidents look scary these days when they feel. Not to say that you felt good.

“The team's Gunna is now difficult at work to finish the backup car. It will probably be impossible to get out today.

“Terrible day for it. It was, so to speak, there were no real signs for it. We were very satisfied with the car this morning, go out and just relax, couldn't even make a round one.

“It's shit, but I'm good, keep going.”

While things felt different on board, the incident was visually incredibly similar to a crash that Herta had in the last training session for the 2022 event that they could see above.

Marcus Armstrong used Meyer Shank earlier in the day and still has to be released to go back to the campaign.

Fast -solving winds, which can also change the direction, can achieve a driver at any time at high speeds of over 230 km / h in the qualification.

Before Herta's crash, Pato O'Ward led the Times with the shock that was Premas Robert Shwartzman, who made rounds of 233 miles per hour in the average range, which O'Ward could not keep up as top values, but the McLaren driver lost less time over his full run.

Graham Rahal, who joined the event in 2023, is the early fighter – and complains of a lack of grip as in practice.

The four -time winner Helio Castoneves lacked the technical inspection and had to extend his 20th place in the order to go on the right track. Josef Newgarden voluntarily pulled out of the line due to the 33rd of 34 cars.

It is likely that the sun does not sit on Pitlane all day and can make significant changes later in the day if this is necessary, which is not permitted in the line.
