Civilians who were killed in the drone strike in eastern Ukraine: UN rights -monitors

At least nine people were killed and seven injured when, according to the local authorities, a Russian drone near the city of Bilopillia met a minibus in the Sumy region.

HRMMU monitors collect additional information about the circumstances of the attack and its victims.

Preliminary reports indicate that the minibus wore civilian evacuated from an area near the front, most of which were women.

“A strong memory”

“With nine reported civilians who were killed, this would be the deadliest attack for weeks,” said Danielle Bell, head of HRMMU.

“This is a strong memory that civilians continue to be killed and injured in Ukraine every day.”

If confirmed, the strike would represent the fatal attack since April 24 when at least 11 civilians were killed and 81 injured in the capital of Kyiv.

HRMMU said that the number of civilian victims in May was somewhat lower than in April, but still the daily civilian victims, especially on the front.
