Pacers against Knicks NBA Playoff's story: Top moments made of rivalry

The Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks will meet in the Eastern Conference 2025. The Knicks defeated the Boston Celtics in six games in the semi -finals, while the Pacers fell off the top seed Cleveland Cavaliers in five games.

The Pacers and Knicks met eight times in the playoffs, including several spirited playoff series in the nineties with Pacers all-time goalkeeper König Reggie Miller at the center of many of the best moments of these controversial battles.

They also met last season when the Pacers removed a Knicks team in seven games. The Pacers performed with a record -breaking shooting performance in the Madison Square Garden and made 67.1% of their field gates in a victory of 130 to 109.

Indiana won five of the eight series against New York, including the last three. This year's Eastern Conference final begins in New York on Wednesday.

Here are some of the big Pacers moments from this story:

“Hicks against Knicks”

It is believed that parts of the New York media have exceeded the element of the big city/small town in the series, although at that time none of the Pacers players were native: Reggie Miller was born in the Los Angeles area. Vern Fleming in New York; Rik suggestions in the Netherlands. However, the fan bases of the teams took it to heart when Spike Lee had a seat in New York And Indianapolis and some Pacers fans who are in the atmosphere by tightening overalls. Combine this with the low score, the rough playing style in the nineties, and your six playoff matchups with a period of eight years have produced great intensity.

Great Pacers against Knicks NBA Playoffs moments

May 4, 1993: John Starks Head Butts Reggie Miller

After the Pacers game 3 lost the first two games of the Best-of-5 series in the third quarter. Miller is on the way to 36 points and tells his New York counterpart John Starks everything about it. On a trip across the square, Starks loses its cool and headbutts Miller. Starks will be ejected and the Pacers win 116-93.

Miller deceived innocence: “What, I Trash-Talk? For a 41-41 team?” he said. “I was surprised that John did it right in front of the referee.”

June 1, 1994: Reggie Miller scored 25 points in the 4th quarter

The Pacers Trail 70-58 enters the fourth quarter, and Knicks Super Fan Spike Lee gives Miller a choke sign. Miller scores 25 points in the fourth quarter to end with 39 and leads Indiana to a 93-86 victory, then he pays Lee back with a choke sign that everyone can see.

“He is her biggest fan and you can't accuse him of it, but sometimes he opens his mouth a little too much and gets the other boys going,” said Miller after the game. “I think there was one of those nights tonight.”

The Pacers Trail 105-99 with 18.7 seconds remained when they collapsed the ball on the half court. Then …

∎ Mark Jackson finds Miller on the left wing, which flows down a 3 pointer with 16.4 seconds on the left.

∎ Miller steals a faulty inbound passport and hits another 3 to bind the score with 13.2 seconds.

∎ The Pacers make the Knicks John Starks on the Inbound Pass, but he misses both free throws.

∎ New York Patrick Ewing ends with the offensive rebound, missing, and Miller is fouled by Starks with 7.5 seconds before the back rim of Starks.

∎ Miller does both free throws.

∎ The Knicks don't get a shot on their last property, and the Pacers win 107-105.

“Realistically, I thought we had no chance (win),” said Pacers coach Larry Brown after the game. “But I won't tell you! Until it is over, you have to keep trying it.

“I never thought it would go out.”

May 21, 1995: “Ding, Dong, the witch is dead!”

This may be the most memorable call in Mark Boyle's decades, in which Pacers games are called on the radio.

After the Pacers had lost hard-fought playoff fights against the Knicks in the past two years, they beat New York to reach their first conference final.

Indiana won game 7 97-95 when Patrick Ewing missed an open finger roll in the basket in the last seconds and prompted Boyle to call.

May 10, 1998: Reggie Miller leads 'Escape from New York'

Miller hits a 3-point with a 5-second lead in the regulation to connect the score, and the Pacers win in extra time behind his 38 points game 4. Indiana wins the 4-1 series.

June 2, 2000: Pacers make your first NBA final

Reggie Miller scores 34 points when the Pacers break off from a tie score after three quarters to win 93: 80 and win the series with 4: 2. They lost the NBA final 4-2 against the Los Angeles Lakers.

May 18, 2013: Roy Hibbert blocks Carmelo Anthony at the top

When the Pacers close the Knicks in game 6 of the second round, Indiana Center Roy Hibbert offers a permanent picture by refusing Carmelo Anthony's Dunk. Indiana wins 106-99.

2024: Pacers Scorch Knicks in game 7 at MSG

Admittedly, with a banged Knicks team, the Pacers in the garden did not take prisoners in game 7. Indiana shot too well to be defeated, and made 67.1% of their field goals to deepen the previous NBA playoff record of 67.0%, from the Celtics in 1990. The Field GOAL percentage of the Pacers in the first half in the past 25 years was also the best clip for a playoff half.

“We obviously have a historical crime, but this type (Tyrese -Haliburton) got things rolling and everyone just followed,” said Myles Turner. “To do this on the go when you are in a game 7 in the garden is obviously phenomenal. We did that all the season and it has been shown on a big stage.”

Haliburton set the tone and scored 14 points in the first quarter of 5-of-7 shooting, including 4 out of 5 from 3-point range.

“Reggie Miller ran around in this first quarter,” said Pacers coach Rick Carlisle.
