Mexican GP future surely safe after the mayor has triggered the F1 extension

Formula 1 has announced an expansion of the Grand Prix of Mexico City with a new three -year contract.

The race in Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez remains in the calendar until at least at the end of 2028, whereby its previous deal will take place at the end of the current season.

Mexico resigned in the F1 calendar in 2015 and was known as a Mexican Grand Prix between this year and the 2019 race before becoming the Grand Prix Mexico City in 2021 after he was skipped because of Covid '20 '20.

The world championships were chosen for Lewis Hamilton in the years 2017 and 2018 and was a scene of a controversial Flashpoint between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris in 2024, which ended with Verstappen with amplifiers.

There was speculation that the lack of a Mexican driver on the net to Sergio Perez 'Red Bull Axing could have an impact on ticket sales, but the organizers are confident that this will not be the case.

The news of the expansion was accidentally leaked by the mayor of Mexico City, Clara Brugada last week.
