Student of the Bay Village High School dies after Lacrosse injury

According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office, his cause of death was listed as a blunt craniocervical injury. The type of death was ruled by chance.

The sports director announced that the school had canceled the rest of their lacrosse season.

The school district published the following explanation on Tuesday morning:

“After a time of thoughtful considerations last weekend, the Lacrosse team of the Bay High School Boys made the decision to complete their season. Head coach Kyle Figy shared this information with me last night.”

Reaction of the family and community reaction

The Viselian family published the following explanation of his death:

“With a heavy heart, the Viselian family shares the news that Dylan died of injuries during a lacrosse game. We are deeply touched by the overwhelming support and friendliness of our community and beyond. We ask you to keep our thoughts and prayers in this difficult time.”

Reverend Daniel F. Schlegel from St. Raphael, a friend of the family, said that Veselic's death had been accompanied by many tears.

“It was a deep sadness and of course a deep grief at this time I think that they knew that things were very, very serious,” he said. “There were a lot of tears, I would say. But the family is a family of deep faith and coping with it, and I think that together with the support of the community, she was a really good help for her.

“Dylan was fun -loving. I saw a great picture that he was pushed around a car in an ice rink. He was a great team member. His team members loved him and supported him.”

The residents of Bay Village showed their support for the Veselian family all over the city.

A meal period for the family has already collected more than 123,000 US dollars.
