Jets' Mark Scheifeles game 6 Status after the father's death in the air

The top jets will occur on Saturday in Dallas with heavy hearts after the unexpected death of the father of striker Mark Scheifele.

Brad Scheifele suddenly died overnight, Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff told reporters before the game on Saturday against the stars who have a head start in the semi -finals of the Western Conference.

Scheifele was not present at the optional morning skate on Saturday, and it was unclear whether the 14-year-old NHL veteran would play in game 6.

“We want to give [Mark’s] Family our sincerely condolences and obviously ask that everyone respected their and their privacy at that time, ”said Cheveldayoff, adding that Dallas coach Scott Arniel had returned to the team of the team to support Scheifele.

“This is such a big loss, that's your mentor, that's the person you grew up. So is the person you want to be. I think there are only a lot of small things you have to do to really ensure that Mark is supporting and going forward today.”

The jets, the presidents' winners this year with the best 116 points (56-22-4), need a street victory on Saturday evening to force a crucial game 7 on Monday.
