What you say:

“There are no words. Everything I can say is that I would not wish the devil this pain itself,” said Stephens' mother Tanya Hernandez.

It is almost a month for Hernandez after her daughter was killed in a terrible accident in San Jose.

“She made very funny, very sociable, intelligent,” said Hernandez. “She loved camping and was outdoors.”

Hernandez received the devastating news on Easter Sunday morning.

“I immediately hit the floor and started screaming,” said Hernadez.

What we know:

The night before, a car from Anthony Meyers, the 18 -year -old Hernandez, was driven north to her daughter on the San Tomas Expressway near the Avenue Moorpark. The police said Meyers accelerated.

“He went over 100 miles per hour,” said Hernandez.

The car lost control, went off the street and slapped into a tree stump. Meyers was hospitalized before the arrest. Stephens died at the scene.

“I was really looking forward to seeing them growing, and now that was torn by us,” said Hernandez.

Stephen's not only left three siblings, but also two of his own children, a 6-year-old and an 18-month-old baby.

“You now have to grow up without your mother,” said Hernandez.

The victim's mother demands justice

Meyers was charged with vehicle stroke and ruthless driving that caused physical injuries, but was released from prison the day before Mother's Day.

“50,000 US dollars were 150,000 US dollars,” said Hernandez. “I had to roll Mother's Day in my bed and missed my daughter while Anthony was with his family.

Hernandez made it clear what justice looks like for them.

“Prison sentence. He has to do prison,” said Hernandez. “He made a choice. And this choice took my daughter's life.”

Just 18 months after the loss of her brother in a motorcycle accident, Hernandez now collects money for another funeral that she would never have thought of.

“You shouldn't bury your babies. It should be the other way around,” said Hernandez.

What's next:

Meyers will be due again in July and could have up to nine years in prison if he is convicted.
