Cambridge, Milton Girls win Division 2 Lacrosse titles

Division 2 – Girls Cambridge 17, blessed trinity 5

For the second year in a row, the Cambridge bear proved to be too much for the blessed trinity. The bears extended their winning streak against the titans to four games and date from the regular season of last year. Cambridge dominated the first three quarters, took a 14-2 lead in the fourth and finally won 17: 5.

Cambridge pushed the game on a running watch late in the third quarter, had the game since the center of the first. The titans opened the goal with the first goal of the game, but Cambridge reacted directly with six to take control and go 8: 2 into the half. They scored nine of the last 12 goals and scored a dominant season.

Division 2 – girl Milton 17, CreekView 5

The Milton Eagles did eight in a row and extended their dynasty to 20 seasons and 18 championships. Since Lacrosse became a GHSA sanctioned sport 21 years ago, Milton has reached the final every year. The Eagles defeated CreekView with 17: 5 in a game that was more competitive than the final result suggested.

Milton opened the game Strong, scored seven of the first nine goals and had a lead of 7-2 until late into the second quarter. At the end of half, the grizzlies opened a serum and scored two quick goals to reduce the deficit to 7: 4 and to keep Milton on only two goals in the second period. However, the Eagles made adjustments at half -time and shot in the third quarter and scored six unanswered goals to get out of reach. They finally triggered a running clock in the fourth and closed the game with a dominant 10: 1 run.

Milton will appear as a serious favorite in the next season to extend his championship series to nine. The Eagles were almost unstoppable and all won the exception of two titles since sports in Georgia.

On the other side of the field, CreekView returns to the drawing board. The grizzlies have been one of the most constant programs in the state in recent years, but have fallen into the longest dynasties in the state, a blessed trinity and Milton, in the last four seasons. The team will undoubtedly remain in the championship discussion next year, but will break through their first remains of the greatest challenge.
