In a time of crime dramas, many stories about the influence of the mafia on American society were created. It is one thing to explore the dark, shabby operations, but it is another to explore the corrupt officials who made it possible for them, especially if they have trustworthy law enforcement authorities. Based on the true history of the infamous “Mafia police officers” by Stephen Caracappa And Louis EppolitoPresent Mob Cops follows Sammy Cannano (David Arquette) and Leo Benetti (Jeremy Luke), which not only served the badge of the NYPD, but also organized organized crimes, since the truth comes out after a retired NYPD detective writes about its heroic deeds. Luke spoke with blears cool about reunification with the author director Danny Abeckaserwriter Kosta KondilopoulosArquette and the limits of the indie turning of a history of this kind.

Bleeding Cool: How are you to deal with 'Mob Cops' and what fascinated you about the story?

In 2022 I worked with Danny Abeckaser in a film called 'Inside Man' with Emile Hirsch, and then I was in Montreal at the beginning of 2023 and had a job and had a lot of free time. [Kosta Kondilopoulos]The writer of 'Inside Man', contacted me and said: “Jeremy, let's go for dinner.” I said, “Yes, please, I need a friend.” We went to dinner and told me about a new film that he wrote for Danny as “Mob Cops”, and I was very fascinated. I was familiar with the story and so everything started. What fascinated me about the role was someone who took an oath for the NYPD, and he was also in the mafia, had mafia connections when he shouldn't have been while serving the NYPD. He was also a husband and father, and in addition he was an actor with whom I couldn't really move into.

What was Kosta's script and what was it like to work with Danny, the creative?

What felt me about the script was the story of these two officers who killed many people and worked for the mob. It was almost unbelievable that they could get away with what they did for so long. My character Leo Binetti is a real person and that's a real story. He was very cavaliers late in his career. He appeared on TV and so he was caught. He was on a talk show and a woman looked at the talk show. She said: “This is the guy who took my son with me! This is a policeman who took my son with him for the last time!” So everything opened the case. Working with Danny is great. He is collaborative and also a good friend of mine. We work well together. I knew what I started with 'Inside Man'. He held the set quite positively and likes what we put on the table. He is also not rigid in his direction. He lets her make your decisions and gives you little crumble about it.

How was it to work with David? [Arquette] And develop your chemistry as sandy Canzano and Leo? Was there anything additional that you brought from the scripts and the additional preparation from researching the role?

Working with David was great. We teamed up and facetimeded for the first few times because he does not live in California. I am in California and when he arrived here, we started working together on the script. We would meet and go to this diner called Patty's restaurant in Toluca Lake, approx. We bring the scenes together and share information, talk about the documentaries we have seen and the new information that we have collected on the way. We got on really well and also became friends.

What can you say about your castmates like Kevin [Connolly] and Graham [Sibley]And what did you bring to the film?

Kevin played the district prosecutor. I didn't have a scene with Kevin. I had a scene with Graham and he is a good friend of mine in real life. The thing with Graham was that he helped me with the role every day for a month because I looked for a month. It was a short process for me, but I went to his house every day for a month and we worked on becoming Leo Benetti. He helped me a lot and guided me through the whole thing.

What was the most difficult part of the trip while filming?

I wish I had more time. Since I had a month, but someone could have six months. I wish we had more time with smaller budget things, but we only have less time to shoot. We had to shoot in about 12 days, but they have a lot more time with larger budget things. You don't have to shoot 6-7 pages a day so that you can shoot two sides and you have the luxury of just getting slower.

Was the film already made when Lionsgate recorded it? Could you possibly have launched a little more money to expand it?

The film was already recorded by Lionsgate before we shot because Danny had made a few films for Lionsgate and has a good relationship with them.
