Two transported in Crook County after the helicopter accident

Update: The Crook County's office announced KTVZ News that two people were transported to St. Charles in Bend. The 80-year-old male pilot and the 46-year-old male passenger suffered both serious injuries.

Prineville, ore. – Today at 11:35 a.m., Prineville Dispatch received several 911 calls with a helicopter accident near the Prineville Airport. Police and fire brigade staff reacted to the scene and found a dilapidated helicopter south of the SW Houston Lake Road in the area of ​​the Crook County landfill.

Rescue workers found two people on the crash site, an 80-year-old male pilot and a 46-year-old male passenger. Both suffered serious injuries and were treated at the scene before they were flown to hospitals in Bend. Your current conditions are unknown.

The helicopter fell into an open field that was about 200 meters from the street. No ground injuries or damage to property were reported. It seems that the helicopter was privately owned.

The scene was secured and there are no persistent dangers or threats to public security. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) were notified and will take over the examination.
