A dead man after an accident with a motorcycle in South -hio, say soldiers

One person is dead and another injured after an accident with two vehicles in South Ohio on Saturday afternoon, Troopers said.

The incident was reported shortly before 2 p.m. along the State Route 691 in Athens County, west of the Salem Road, where a motorcycle driving south tried to bend on a private street, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The SUV was driven by Julie Howard 49 from Nelsonville and it was treated at the scene. The operator of the motorcycle, Clem J. Mace, 65, from Nelsonville, was brought to the Marietta Memorial Hospital, where he was declared dead.

Athens County Ems, fire brigade from York Township, the Coroner office of Athens County and the Ministry of Transport of Ohio supported the Ohio State Highway Patrouille at the scene.

The authorities said that the crash was still being examined.
