A large old sailboat that carried out a training exercise on the East River on Saturday evening hit the Brooklyn Bridge, confirmed police sources.

According to sources, which were familiar with the incident, the Mexican naval ship, known as Cuauhtémoc, fell against the Brooklyn Bridge at around 9 p.m. against the East River around 9 p.m. At least four people should be in a critical condition.

The ship was in the city to promote sailing operations in connection with the American Sesquicentennial celebrations next year and to mark the 250th birthday of the United States.

Sources that were familiar with the incident said that 277 passengers were on board the ship at the time of falling. At least 30 people on board were injured, including the four listed in critical conditions.

The NYPD and the FDNY started a complete rescue and recreation surgery and attached the injuries to the Pier 16. A large amount that gathered there has cheered the first aiders and victims when they appeared in the pier.

Mayor Eric Adams, who had carried out a U -Bahn event on Saturday evening, said Reporters said that he was supposed to visit the Cuauhtémoc later in the coming week.

“I will now go on a trip there and told the team to give me a helicopter and a boat so that we can see what happened. It seems as if one of the masts hits the structure and I will now get a briefing,” said Adams. It is expected that he later gives further details about the incident.

In the meantime, the town hall advises the New Yorker to avoid Brooklyn Bridge at that time to enable the rescue operation and the inspections.

This is bad news.
