Score, updates from the WNBA Opener

play

The 2025 WNBA season is there, and for the Seattle Storm and Phoenix Mercury, the campaign taps on Saturday with a collision in the PhX Arena.

Phoenix has undergone a big change in this low season, four of the starters of the past year no longer in the team's list. It will be strange to see the mercury on the pitch without Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner, but Phoenix was aggressively replacing their big names. With Alyssa Thomas and Satou Sabally, who arrives in crafts outside of the season, Phoenix still has a reasonable share of all-League talents.

There is a similar atmosphere with Seattle that Jewell Loyd exchanged against the Las Vegas Aces in the low season. Alysha Clark has returned and added a front line that includes 2024 all-WNBA Second Teamer Nneka Ogwumike and Center EZI Magegor. Seattle expected more than a playoff exit in the first round last season, so there is pressure to prove that this group can take the next step.

Here you can find out how to watch the Storm Mercury game, including time, television channels and streaming options:

The mercury held the storm in the first two quarters at 15. Satou had 17 points and four rebounds for the Phoenix. Alyssa Thomas added 13 points, four assists and three rebounds. Skylar Diggins had a team high of 13 points for the storm. Ezi Magbegor became goalless for Seattle, but collected six rebounds.

Satou Sabally had eight points and three rebounds for the mercury during the opening time. Kathryn Westbeld had seven points and Alyssa Thomas added six points and three templates. Skylar Diggins had seven points for the storm.
