Ida Grove woman who was sentenced to 50 years in prison for the death of her little child

A woman of Ida Grove was sentenced to 50 years in prison for the death of her three -year -old son.

The 24-year-old Billie Mosier was convicted on Friday. She was convicted of a count of child hazard on April 4. Together with the prison sentence, Mosier also has to pay $ 150,000 in reimbursement.

On the evening of May 4, 2023, the Battle Creek Ambulance Service in the 500 Maple Street in the Battle Creek was called for a call of a not reacting child. Jordan Reed did not breathe and he was brought to the Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove and then to Omaha Children's Hospital. Jordan was declared dead the next day.

Mosier told the authorities that she traveled with Jordan in his car seat, arrived in Battle Creek and had dropped him together. According to court documents, she said that after falling asleep he strangled on the chest strap of the security seat. An autopsy of the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner found that his injuries were not correct with Mosier's claims.
