LS Boys scores 164 points, win the home meeting of the last chance – Newton Daily News

Sully-Dawson James was a double winner, Jaiden Richards won 100-meter-dash and opened the 4×100 relay team of the HAWKS and the athletics of Lynnville-Sully Boys ended his regular season with a win on his home tape.

The Hawks won the LS Last Chance with 164 points. Pekin was the second place with 143.5 points, while East Marshall (100), Belle Plaine (97) and Colfax-Mingo (87.5) completed the top 5.

The rest of the eight team field consisted of Cardinal (53), North Mahaska (41) and GMG (35).

Colfax-Mingo took first place in the distance medley relay and took third place in four other events.

It was the fourth championship of the season for Lynnville Sully.

“We have scored points again at all 19 events, with many people contribute to this total amount,” said Arkema, athletics coach of LS Head Boys. “The boys did a great job to take care of themselves and be ready to take part in competitions.”

James won the shot with a litter of 45 feet, 0 inches and put the first in the disc with a hike of 130-6.

Richards won the 100 in 11.78 seconds and Burt Johnson ran a career best 12.4 and took sixth place.

Colton Alberts (4: 58.27) and Blake Wilmesmeier (4: 59.25) went 1-3 in the 1,600. The duo flopped in the 800 as Wilmesmeier.

The Hawks went 2-4-5 in the 400 hurdles when Terran Gosselink (58.48) took second place.

Conner Deal was second in the high jump with a jump of 5-10 and Ashton Rozendaal finished fifth in a career-best jump of 5: 6.

The Spooner took fourth place in the long jump with a jump from 17-7 1/4, Veldhuizen (17.84) at the 110 altitude fifth, deal (25.37) fifth in the 200 and Hendrick Lowry (56.48) to sixth place in the 400.

Keegan quickly achieved a career of 12: 45.38 and took sixth place in the 3,200.

The 4×100 relay team took the gold medal 45.44 in a season best. This quartet included Richards, Jack Bowlin, Matthew Mintle and Jace Johnson.

“(Richards) flew over the route, won the 100 and led both the 4×200 and 4×100 to second place and first place,” said Arkema. “The 4×100 had a best of the season on the way to victory by almost 1 second.”

Sam Terlouw, Trace Carlson, Evan Arkema and Madden Gunsaulus took second place in the 4×800 season in 9 minutes and 33.83 seconds.

The shuttle hurdle relay team from Deal, Veldhuizen, Rozendaal and Gosselink became second place in one season best and in a school record 1: 02.07.

Ethan Dunsbergen, Lowry, Jace Johnson and Gosselink put together 3: 40.9 in the 4×400, and Jordan Dunsbergen, Andrew Arkema, Carlson and Terlouw took third place in the distance medley relay in 4: 09.84.

Colfax-Mingos distance medley relay by Tony Buenrostro, Will Thornton, Chase Trotter and Sullivan Wilkins won the race in 3: 51.77.

Colfax-Mingo was third in a trio of relay. Isaiah Baucom, Xavier Woods, Buenrostro and Trotter were third in the Sprint Medley relay in 1: 42.08 and then teamed up in 46.65 in the 4×100 season.

Alexander Rodriguez-Briseno, Owen Ament, Joe Grimm and Kyle Wood went bronze in the 4×800 in 9: 38.67.
