Aleema Khan and Kanwal Shauzab take part in a tense exchange in the courtroom via the leaked video

A tense courtroom unfolded on Saturday between the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan's sister Aleema Khan and the former party MNA Kanwal Shauzab after the edition of a video in which Shauzab Aleema criticized.

In the video, Shauzab Aleema allegedly criticized for disregarding the party officers and the preliminary chair Gohar Ali Khan, and claimed that she was working to destroy the party and intended to confront her directly on the topic.

During a hearing at the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi, both women briefly exchanged words. Shauzab approached Aleema and said: “Aleema APA, I want to talk to you.” Aleema replied: “Just leave it, it's okay. Many people speak against us. We are now used to such allegations.”

Shauzab tried to clarify and said: “A specific part of an old video was selectively edited and used against me”, but Alema went away and apparently ignored her attempt to get reconciliation.

In the meantime, the ATC Aleema Khan's petition rejected a liberation of court appearances and permission to travel abroad for donations.

Aleema's legal team argued that she was invited as the main guest for events at Namal University and the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital in Great Britain, but the Zaheer Shah public prosecutor rejected the request and explained that she had no active role in the donation actions.

The court later made a written judgment that rejected the petition and refused to travel abroad.

After the hearing, Aleema spoke to the media and expressed the frustration that she refused permission to travel. “I was looking for dishes in the search for travel permit last week. Why are you afraid of me?” She asked.

She also criticized the comparisons between her case and top -class scandals, in which personalities such as Ayyan Ali and Khawaja Asif were involved: “Even those who were involved in large scandals were granted deposit. The only accusation against me is that I conveyed a message from Imran Khan to party workers.

Aleema directed the question of political dynasties and said: “Yes, we are hereditary and we are with our brother. Nobody can stop us.”

She repeated that the family was united behind Imran Khan and decided to secure his release. “The founder of PTI is not alone – his family is with him. This is our duty and we will fulfill it,” she added. “We stand by him in this fight – in this fight.”
