2 injured after a single motorcycle accident in Jo Davies County, rural Galena

Jo Davieess Co., Ill. (KWQC) – Two people are injured on Saturday afternoon after a single vehicle, motorcycle accident in Jo Davies County. One person was flown to a hospital with life -threatening injuries. The other was taken to a hospital with the authorities who do not consider life -threatening injuries.

On Saturday, at around 2:55 p.m., the Jo Davies County Dispatch Center announced that they received a 911 call from a single vehicle, motorcycle accident with injuries near the intersection of the West Council Hill Road, half a mile east of the North Birkbeck Road, in the rural gala, Illinois.

When the MPs arrived, they said that the 36-year-old man from Augusta, Wisconsin, drove his motorcycle with a 43-year-old passenger from Augusta, Wisconsin.

The driver of the motorcycle drove from the south side of the street, where he lost control of the motorcycle on the loose gravel shoulder, the MPs said. He tried to regain control of the motorcycle when it tipped over to the side and slipped across the street.

The driver of the motorcycle and the passenger were both ejected out of the bike when it was rested on the north side of the street, the MPs said. The 36-year-old man was taken to the Midwest Medical Center and then brought to Iowa City by Aircare 3 for life-threatening injuries. The 43-year-old woman was brought to the Mercy Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash continues to be investigated, said MPs. The Galena police department, the fire brigade of Galena, Galena Ems and Hazel Green Ems and Aircare 3 were supported at the crime scene.
