House Bill 25-1275 is sponsored by the state deputy Matt Soper from Delta and the Mesa Counties, the state MP Yara Zokaie from Larimer County, the Senator Mike Weissman, the Adams and the districts of Arapahoe and the Senator Lisa Fricatally from Douglas County.

“The recent events have shown gaps in our laws when it comes to fixing allegations because of defect behavior that question the criminal proceedings,” said Weissman.

The legislation would “demand that he witness or discovery of misconduct or an important event to the director of the Crime Laboratory … or to report to the direct supervisor of the employee who should report it to the director”.
