Minor's arrest for DUI after crash causes the power failure | Local news

Sparks Police, Fire and Medical Personnel were on site of a crash that took place at Vista Blvd around 2:00 a.m. And Los Altos Parkway.

Officers arrived at the crime scene to find a Toyota that had crashed into a power pole in the median. The crash separated the pole and dropped a living power line into the street.

The crash caused a power failure, and Vista BLVD to the north was switched off from Los Altos Parkway to the Baring Blvd for a few hours, while NV Energy was working to restore the power supply of all affected customers.

The driver's identity was not published because he is apparently a minor.

The driver was determined to be affected at the crime scene, and he was arrested and booked into the office of the Sheriff of the Washoe County because of DUI, a minor, in possession of alcohol and failure to maintain Lane.

The Sparks police would like to remind people of using public transport, companies with rescue stocks or a proven driver if they have drunk.
