The Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum mourns the death of two members of the Mexican Marine crew members

The Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum mourned for the death of two occupation members who were on Saturday evening on the Navy TaL Ship that fell against the Brooklyn Bridge.

“We are deeply sad about the loss of two crew members of the Cuauhtémoc training ship who lost their lives in the unfortunate accident in the New York port,” Scheinbaum wrote about X. “Our sympathy and support go to their families.”

Sheinbaum, who became Mexico's first President last June last June, said that at least 17 people who were wounded during the collision were treated by the Mexican Navy and supported by NYC officials.

The tragedy arrived when the majestic Cuauhtémoc-a training ship with 277, mainly cadet at Saturday at 8:30 p.m. with the 141-year-old bridge.

The 147-foot masts of the ship plunged into the street of the bridge when renegoted witnesses were watching.

Two crew members who were on the mast fell on the ship's deck during the collision and were declared dead in local hospitals, CNN reported on sources.

The identity of the two fatal victims was not published on Saturday evening. According to the Mexican Outlet Excelsior, the navy brought into contact with the victim's families.

Sheinbaum praised the local leaders in New York for their quick response to the fatal crash.

“I thank Eric Adams, Mayor of New York, for the support he supported our fellow citizens. We monitor the situation and the navy will continue to provide updates,” she said.

Hizzoner thanked the emergency staff who hurried to the scene to help the injured person

“We pray for everyone on board and their families and are grateful to our first aiders, who quickly get into practice, that this accident was not much worse,” he wrote about X.

Adams confirmed that the Brooklyn Bridge did not make any damage and was opened to the public late Saturday.

First aiders searched the waters after the crew members had fallen, but sources later said that nobody had done it.

The mutilated ship is currently idle in the water, while rescue workers work on the Pier 16 to worry. It is expected that it will be relocated to Pier 36, said the Swiss Sources of the Swiss Post.

The ship, which was built in Spain in 1982 with the only purpose of the training of cadets, was in New York City as part of a promotion for the Sail4th Tall Ship event next year, which celebrates the 250th birthday of America.

The stop is only the third in the eight -month journey of the ship around the globe, which offers the Mexican cadets the opportunity to bend their sailing muscles in environments such as Jamaica, Iceland, Portugal and more.
