What we know about the High School in Syrakus, New York

Instead of ending their lacrosse season, at least 11 high school players from Syrakus, New York, are exposed to kidnapping suspicions if they did not surrender to the authorities by Thursday, officers said.

The students of the Westhill High School, who are not identified due to their age, are accused

We know the following about the case that amazed the community:

Some of the suspects made the younger players go to McDonald's after a lacrosse game after a Lacrosse game last Thursday, said Fitzpatrick.

The driver of the vehicle then claimed that he was lost in a remote part of the district. There “accomplices jumped out of the forest and gave to be a kidnapper,” said the district prosecutor.

The accomplices were dressed in black and apparently had at least one pistol and at least one knife, said that.

“Some of the (victims) could escape,” said Fitzpatrick. But one of the students couldn't flee.

The group put a pillow cover over the head of this student, tied it together and threw it into the trunk of a car before he pushed it into another forested part of the county, said Fitzpatrick.

The younger player was finally returned home. But “there was a period of time in which he thought he would leave in the middle of nowhere,” said he.

“I saw the video tape of what happened to this young man,” said Fitzpatrick. “It is not a transitional rite. It is not a trivial matter. I don't know how long this young man will be affected by what happened to him.”

The video also learned reactions by some suspect, said Fitzpatrick. “You can hear that some of the people found it amusing.”

Who are the suspects with and what charges could they be exposed to?

The number of suspects is “accepted, 11, but could be more,” Joseph Coolican Joseph Coolican from Onondaga County told CNN on Wednesday.

“Most of them are minors … But there are at least one who is over 18 years old.”

Fitzpatrick made the suspect a public offer on Tuesday: contact the Sheriff's department within 48 hours and you can be exposed to a less serious offense due to illegal prison sentence.

“If you don't do it – if you are harder than me, you are a player and you will play the chances, you will not believe that you will be caught. Trust me, the men and women of the Sheriff Department of Department of the Onondaga district will identify you,” said the district prosecutor.

“They are arrested, they are persecuted as an adult and they are charged with the very serious crime of kidnapping, perhaps to the second degree.”

Coolican refused to speculate about possible punishments with which the suspects may have been convicted of kidnapping, since it is unclear which degree of charges they are confronted.

However, if a suspect under the age of 18 is complied with and is charged with illegal prison sentence, his case would go to a family court and are not subject to criminal law, said Coolican.

“If you are 18, you would be entitled to a so -called youthful criminal status, which would seal the record in the state of New York,” said the deputy district prosecutor.

“If you spend yourself and (be) charged because of the offense, you would not have permanent records.”

Fitzpatrick did not say whether it was real or wrong. But “we will not burden anyone with the possession of a weapon,” he said.

The rest of the Lacrosse season of the Varsity Boys was canceled, said Stephen Dunham, superintendent of the Westhill Central School District, on Tuesday.

While most of the team was not involved in the incident or knew about the plans in advance, “we had to deal with the culture of the program, and the most suitable way to do this,” said the superintendent.

The school district has initiated its own investigation, although “he cannot comment on or do not share any specific details about the student discipline,” said Dunham.

But he noticed that the policy of Westhill Central School District “strictly” prohibits the lawsuit in all forms.

“Hazing is an unsustainable act,” said the superintendent. “It can be humiliating and humiliating and possibly cause physical and emotional damage.”
