What led to the Mexican naval ship falling into the Brooklyn Bridge? Everything we know

A Mexican naval ship reached the New York Brooklyn Bridge, killed two people and injured 19.

What happened?

The two people killed in the crash were seafarers who do not yet have to be named.

At a press conference of the New York Mayor Eric Adams, it was confirmed that 19 people were injured, five. The mayor later said to X that two of the injuries died.

The Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum mourned for the loss of the two crew members.

“Our solidarity and support go to your families,” said Ms. Sheinbaum on X.

The most seriously injured victims were on the mast at the time of the collision, officials said.

Mayor Adams said the victims were brought to the Bellevue Hospital for treatment.

What caused the crash?

The Cuauhtémoc was seen on Saturday, which quickly moved to the Brooklyn side of the East River and went directly to the bridge.
