His weathered singing drives to a classic blues progress, which is equally tough and happy, while his characteristic guitar tone cuts through like a live wire. “Bright Side” shows that McCray does what he can do best – to deliver emotional truth with musical fire.

Produced by Grammy-nominated Duo Bonamassa and Smith, Heart pain city is a brave, unfiltered collection that McCray finds at the height of his strength. The blues singer and guitarist Larry McCray was born in Magnolia, Arkansas, and grew up in Saginaw, Michigan, where he developed a scorching guitar style and an emotional voice that brought him comparisons with the greats of the genre. McCray, a pioneer of modern blues rock, helped the genre in the 90s with albums on Virgin's Point Blank and by working with legends such as BB King, Albert King and Buddy Guy.
