A 67-year-old biker is in a critical condition after a serious street accident in the highlands.

The crash, in which a black Mazda CX5 car and two Yamaha MT07 motorcycles were included, occurred on Saturday around 11:05 a.m.

The police said that the 47-year-old male driver of the car, who was unharmed, was arrested in connection with traffic violations.

The injured man was brought to the Raigmore Hospital in Internness. Officers said the second biker was unharmed.

The crash occurred in the A862 InVernness to the Ardullie Road in Ballindoun at the intersection with the A833 towards Kiltarlity.

The road was closed for about eight hours to enable police investigations.

SGT Calum Macaulay said: “Our inquiries continue to understand the full circumstances of what happened.

“I would ask anyone who saw the crash or that the Dash cam film material may have to contact us as soon as possible.”
