The high school wrestler shows remarkable progress after neck injury

Montgomery County, Tenn.-a student of the Central High School in Montgomery, who suffered a life-changing injury at the beginning of this year, is making unexpected progress on his relaxation trip.

The 17 -year -old Immanuel Gilmore broke his neck during a wrestling match in February and paralyzed it down from the upper body. Now the teenager defies his initial forecast through determination and hard work.

Friends, family members and community supporters gathered for a donation to show their support for Immanuel. They carried shirts that showed their weight class and come together to help with his ongoing medical editions.

“We are all here to support Immanuel today,” said a supporter at the event.

According to the family, the community's reaction was overwhelming.

“We let people drift with donations,” said a supporter. “It was very emotional to watch him.”

Kim CLINE KEENOM, a long -time friend of the family, says that Immanuel's core personality remains unchanged despite the serious injury.

“He is a very determined person, and that will never change,” said Keenom.

This provision already shows results. Immanuel has regained some functions, of which the doctors could initially be lost permanently.

“He is a point with his left hand. He can actually understand it like a fist,” said a family member.

Before his injury in February, Immanuel had the hope of qualifying for state competition with the wrestling team of his school. After breaking his neck, his family's doctors informed that he was paralyzed from the upper body.

Nancy Gilmore, Immanuel's mother, said that he had worked hard to recover something from him.

“He can feel when you touch his feet and side,” said Nancy. “He can actually get a cup and get it himself.”

The restoration process has brought frequent trips to appointments in Atlanta, and Nancy realizes that there are moments when Immanuel only wants to return to normal teenage life.

“We try to make a final year as normal as it can be,” she said.

Despite these challenges, Nancy finds inspiration in the attitude and endurance of her son.

“I said everyone is in the team, Immanuel. I am very proud of her and he motivates me and Antonio every day,” said Nancy.

The support of the community has a significant impact on Immanuel's relaxation trip.

“He just loves everyone and didn't notice how many people were in his team,” said Nancy.

Immanuel plans to take part in his final party next week before returning to the hospital to continue his treatment and rehabilitation.
