Emerging Insights exhibitions shows the youth creativity

A new exhibition at the Wellington County Museum puts six students in the spotlight, which will receive first -class awards for their submissions at the Juried Art Show

Aboyne, ont. – The Wellington County Museum and Archives (WCMA) is proud to honor six students from the school board of the Upper Grand District for their submissions, a legal exhibition, in cooperation with Elora Fergus Arts Council.

Emerging Insights offers 23 original works of art (selected from over 90 submissions) by students from Wellington County, Duffer County and the city of Guelph. Of the pieces presented in the exhibition, on May 1st, prices by Elora artist Rick Worthington were awarded the exhibition at the opening gala.

Three students received outstanding artistic achievement Awards: – Rebekah McDougall, Wellington Heights Secondary School for cruelty (Lino Print) – Ben Anderson, Center Wellington District High School, for Trowing The Witch (Arcylic) – Naomi Jones, Center Dufferin District High School, a happy and melodic -Waltz).

Three students were given honorary mention: – Jo Clark, Center Wellington District High School, For a crown in a sea of ​​hyacinths (watercolor) – Vanessa van Wyk, John F. Ross CVI, for innocent little world (acrylic) – Adelaide Edwards, Centennial CVI, for Octopus, Acrylic, Acrylic, acrylic, acrylic).

The awards were sponsored by WCMA, the Elora Fergus Arts Council and generous private donors. The emerging knowledge lasts until September 30th with admission through donation. The exhibition is inspired by the long -standing Insights Juried Exhibition of Fine Arts, which are now exhibited in the 44th year and at the WCMA.

About WCMA: WCMA tells the stories of the people and places of Wellington County. The museum is located in Wellington Road 18 between Fergus and Elora in the oldest remaining rural house for industry and refuge (or “bad house”) in Canada.
