2 Congress leaders in Florida are looking for more tax relief for victims of crime for disasters

According to natural disasters, two members of the Florida congress have created a measure to facilitate tax relief for victims of crime.

Republicans sen. Ashley Moody and rep. Greg Stuebefrom Florida's 17th congress district based in Sarasota presented the ”.Tax relief for victims of crimes, fraud and disaster lawOn the Capitol Hill. The measure is intended to provide tax deductions for victims of theft and victims that endure losses due to natural disasters, fraud, cybercrime and structural house errors.

Taxpayers can currently only deduct victim and theft losses in a nationwide declared disaster area. The measure advocates a reinstatement of tax deductions for personal victim losses and an extension of the time to submit rows or reimbursements for personal victim losses among other elements.

“Diligent Americans, especially seniors who fall victim to fraud, cybercrime or disaster, should not be forced to pay taxes on income that they no longer have,” said Steuben. “Victim of crime, misfortune and fraud earn soul peace when they work to regain their reason. This calculation protects Americans who have lost everything by restoring fairness and common sense for the tax code.”
