The 86-year-old woman turned into action 13 to repair a monthly water leak in the Rhobell Street in the northeast of Houston

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – Less than 24 hours after Action 13, a month-long water leak problem of an 86-year-old woman was solved.

Margaret Jones Action 13 called on Tuesday after a water leak had become a continuous problem in December.

It no longer rained in the 7700 block of the Rhobell Street in Houston for days. However, you would not know that it looks at what is going on in front of Jones.

“I'm just tired now,” said Jones on Tuesday. “At my age, 86 years old. So I call Channel 13, and I did that.”

In November, Jones remembered discovering the leak and said it looked very different five months ago.

Now not only the amount of leaky water has grown, it has also brought sediment and mold.

Records show that Jones contacted the city via the leak in early December. City markings show that the leak was active from Tuesday.

ABC13 contacted public work on Tuesday afternoon and the leak was determined on Wednesday on Wednesday.

“I call you back and tell you: 'Jesus, bless you.' I'm going to be sure, “said Jones. “I will say a prayer for channel 13, 'God, take care of channel 13 and never let it go out of the air.”

Public work resolves water leaks more often. Mayor John Whitmire said he appointed a new director of public work five months ago to fight water leaks.

311 Data show how big a problem leak is. In the past 12 months it was the top 311 service call with more than 35,000.

The next highest garbage was missed. Waterleck was still the top service call twelve weeks ago.

In the past four weeks, however, the missing garbage has become the top 311 complaint.

In the past, public work has announced ABC13 that it prioritizes water leak repairs based on the size of the problem and the effects of the leak.

When the leak worsens, public work calls 311 again and let them know.
