JD Vance's visit to Pope Francis' Grab Sparks Memes; “Criminal always returns to the crime scene”

The US Vice President JD Vance visited the grave of the late Pope Francis on Sunday. After the first trade fair of the new Pope Leo, Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance visited the grave of the late Pope, whereupon the US Vice President shared pictures on the Social Media platform X.

Vance's visit marked his second trip to the Vatican in less than a month. His first visit was held in April on Easter Sunday, when he met Pope Francis, after which the Pope died due to longer health problems.

“Today Slotus and I visited the grave of the late Holy Father Pope Francis. He was loved by many Catholics around the world, and I hope they will pray with me with me for the rest of his soul,” he wrote on X.

However, the position of the US Vice President was pushed with a flood of Trolling, with several jokes, like a “criminal always returning to the scene”. In particular, JD Vance had hit the late Pope Francis on Easter Sunday in one of the Pope's last encounters before his death.

When Vance spoke about the eerie time of the meeting, he had previously said that he could not have guessed his last meeting that the Pope had “less than 24 hours on earth”.

Pope Leo holds an opening mass

Pope Leo XIV, the first American Pope of History, held his first mass on the St. Peter Square in front of an estimated 200,000 pilgrims, president, patriarchs and princes on Sunday. JD Vance led the US delegation in honor of Leo, born in Chicago.

The cardinals in the Sistine chapel of the Vatican elected Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost as 267th Pope on May 9. Pope Leo XIV is the first American to take on the role of the Pope, even though he was regarded as a cardinal due to the years he had spent as a missionary in Peru in Peru before becoming a bishop there.
