Eredivisie: Five highlights of the roller coaster season of Champions PSV

PSV was crowned for the 26th time for the 26th time after a real roller coaster.

The season of 2024/25 eredivisie had everything: intrigue, drama, blown leads, a tight title race and a spectacular end.

In order to celebrate the dramatic title of PSV, Flashscore tells the story of her season through five highlights.

1: Imperious Start

After PSV dominated the Eredivisie season of 2023/24, he wanted to use a master as a master for the fourth time this century. An absolutely bubble start into the 2024/25 season helped a bunch: PSV won the first ten games of the season, a series 5: 1, 7: 1 and 60 victories against RKC Waalwijk, Almere City and Pec Zwolle.

The perfect start of PSV recorded the number of points 35 goals, only conceded six and made a lead of 7 points over Ajax at the top of the table. However, it was not the best start in the history of Eredivisie: PSV won the first 17 games in the seasons of 1987/88 and 2023/24.

2: angry recovery

After PSV admitted her first loss of season on Ajax (3-2), she proved that they had not lost their touch and made an angry winning streak with four games. Nac Breda, FC Groningen, FC Utrecht and FC Twente were beaten 3: 0, 5: 0, 5-2 and 6-1. These are three games in a row in which they scored five or more goals. Three.

3: Feyenoord Demantling

There were questions about PSV after he lost 1-0 against Robin van Persies SC Heerenveen. A game PSV manager Peter Bosz called his team in the Eindhoven Club during his tenure.

PSV was forced to quickly recover from her questionable performance in the north of the Netherlands when Feyenoord visited Eindhoven the weekend afterwards. The Rotterdam team had improved from their shaky start to the season and impressed by a 3: 3 draw against Manchester City and a 4-2 victory of the Champions League against Sparta Prague.

The reigning champions did not take care of the outer noise and disassembled Feyenoord 3-0 in another dominant performance. It was her last game before the winter break that scored PSV with a 6-point lead and astonishing 59 goals in just 17 games and scored almost 3.5 goals per game in the first half of the Eredivi season.

4: The big escape

In a catastrophic start by 2025 PSV wasted their lead over Ajax and, after a 2-0 home loss against their rivals from Amsterdam, gave up a potential title. With seven games, Ajax had a 9-point lead at the top of the table and looked prepared to win a record title of the 37th league.

But a collapse by Ajax, FC Utrecht (4-0 loss) and Sparta Rotterdam (1: 1) did not defeat, closed the gap to four points before a crucial collision with Feyenoord, at that time, the most formed in the country at that time.

A team led by Robin van Persie seemed to rock the PSV season again when Feyenoord took the lead 2-0 after ten minutes, but a phenomenal comeback in the second half of PSV completely revived her title hopes.

Noa Lang scored the equalizer in the 72nd minute before scored one last winner in the 99th minute. After Ajax lost 3-0 against Nec Nijmegen two hours after PSV's dramatic victory, the gap was reduced to one point.

5: The comeback of dreams

When Ajax continued to fight in the last days of the season, PSV became the favorite to win the Eredivisie title. After her loss against NEC, Ajax dramatically moved to FC Groningen. A JAX made a victory against FC Twente to end the season with a 5-game victory series, but they spoiled a big lead after gaining a 99% chance of winning the Eredivisie title from Opta.

PSV opposed the chances and in the last ten games of the season only dropped three points and closed a wonderful comeback with victories against Heracles Almelo (4-1) and Sparta Rotterdam (3: 1).

A 26th title went from a long -awaited dream to reality within just two months.
