Woman falls to death from construction at the LPU

A 23-year-old woman died after falling out of the ninth floor of a building at Lovely Professional University (LPU).

The police said the incident that took place on Saturday afternoon seemed to be suicide.

According to police sources, the woman, a former university student and currently in Delhi, came to the university to meet a faculty member.

The victim identified as Akanksha SN came from Karnataka's Mangalore.

Satnampura Sho Hardeep Singh said: “The Post-Mortem report is expected. We are waiting for the victim's parents to arrive here to record their statements. It is an obvious suicide case. The matter is currently in the first phases of the examination.”

Kapurthala Senior Superintendent of the Gaurav Toora police said that the women are currently not employed by the university and in a company in Delhi.
