Suspects who are involved in the “Ghost Names” scandal, who are to be charged next week

Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine has announced that former directors of the National Service Authority (NSA) will be officially charged in May 2025.

The development follows a guideline by President John Dramani Mahama for a complete examination of the discovery of 81,885 alleged ghost names at the NSA salary billing. The anomaly was identified during a nationwide burden on the active national service staff, according to the President and the Minister of Government Communication Felix Kwakye ofosu.

That by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson commissioned was part of the efforts to agree the residues of the outstanding service allowances from August 2024. The problem was first brought to light from the fourth estate in an investigation report in November 2024.

On March 20, the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) interviewed the former executive director of the NSA, Osei Assibey Antwi, because of its alleged participation in the fraud with salary bills. He was accompanied by his lawyer after being invited to the survey.

In conversation with journalists in Accra on Wednesday, April 30th, said Dr. Ayine: “The investigation into the national ghost names of the Ghost names have developed well. And we will submit charges against some of the people involved in the first week of the week, I mean a few days.”

The Attorney General also announced that the government will soon be charged in other top-class cases, including the Sky training project, the National Cathedral, the Procurement of Mathematical Sets and the Senior High School WiFi Initiative. He noted that the listeners are currently being prepared for law enforcement in these matters.
