Here is an MLB story from the AP:

New York (AP) Petete Alonso and the Major League-leading New York Mets were on the field on Tuesday evening.

Alonso never became known for the Slick defense and made a trio of extensive stops on the first basis and the Mets put on their gloves during an 8: 3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

At the center of everything was a breathtaking fourth inning when New York, three consecutive precious strength pitcher David Peterson subsequently put it on the 1-2-3.

“This inning was – I've never seen anything like this. And I have several people say,” said Peterson. “The defense was spectacular.”

Manager Carlos Mendoza: “Quite unbelievable. The inning is exactly there, which they call as a big inning of the league.”

Randal Grichuk led the third base with a hot shot. Mark Vientos dived to the left and the ball looked from his glove to the right to Shortstop Francisco Lindor, who grabbed the distraction in the hole and first shot into a shabby 5-6-3 putout.

Peterson looked away and laughed a little over the hill.

“I tried to decide whether this only happened somehow or somehow these two have there,” he said. “It was an incredible piece.”

And yet the best was still.

The cleaning racket Lourdes Gurriel Jr. then started a long journey to the left center, which looked like a safe double. But the Speedy Center Field Field Tyrone Taylor ran down and made a completely extensive diving trap on the edge of the warning distance, whereby the Citi field got its feet up to its feet, the “Let's Go Mets!”

Peterson and catcher Francisco Alvarez both raised their arms, and a grateful Peterson tipped his hat in Taylor's direction.

“Superman Catch,” said Alonso. “These two games are so in a row, I mean an incredible episode of events. I don't think they find two better games.”

Taylor sprinted 86 feet with an average speed of 29.4 feet per second to make a game with a 45% probability, according to Statcast.

“About half, I thought I had a chance,” he said.

When he threw the ball back, cameras fell a smiling Taylor “Wow”.

“I shocked myself a bit,” he said after the game before wishing his mother happy birthday.

Eugenio Suárez then smoked a sharp one-hopper to Shortstop, where Lindor went to one knee and corrected a difficult hop smoothly on his back hand before he ended the inn for the first time.

“There were three circus games. But when you see it three times, it is something you expect,” said Diamondback's manager Torey Lovullo. “And they are, so they are a good team and first in their department. But when we see that, it should inspire our boys. It is very inspiring to see this kind of baseball.”

After the entire baseball stadium sums, the fans gave the METS ovation when they still trotted the field with 7: 0.

“It's pretty special. You have the lead and you have the feeling that you put pressure on you and you come back and try to put something together – and we were ready today,” said Mendoza.

“The first steps of the boys at every pitch, and then they get the reaction from the fans, do you know? It's like a standing ovation when someone comes on the plate, or if someone beats a Homer. You don't see that too often and it happened from back-to-back-to-back games. So it is really good to see that.”

Before the night was over, Peterson Taylor gave three hugs.

“I love it, man. It's just part of the game, do you know?” Taylor said. “We are all out there and play for each other, so it's great.”

Taylor said he was “just going out” to make the catch and admitted that he would probably see the repetition a few times on Tuesday evening.

“When this ball opened, I look at Taylor where he started and said:” Under no circumstances will he get there. “And before you know it, he dives for it and makes a ridiculous game,” said Mendoza. “And then another type beats a ball and Lindor makes it look like a routine game. I thought Pete also had a really good day defensive. A few nice diving games, so I thought we played really well.”

Lindor and Alonso also met in the game. Taylor had an RBI double and a single with run scoring.

Supported from his striking teammates in the field, Peterson (2-1) allowed a run and five goals over five inner sings to achieve the victory.

“I have the feeling that everyone in our defense can play any games. It was crazy to have three of them in an inning, and I just wanted to get off the field and hug these boys because it was incredible,” he said.

“There is a lot of trust in them,” added Peterson. “I think if she plays like this, it's a great dynamic for the team.”
