Man who was killed in the community crash in Lasalle

Lasalle Parish, La. (Calf) – The Louisiana State Police Truppe E reported on Saturday, May 18, a fatal crash in the municipality of Lasalle, Earl Hickerson, 57, from Missouri City, Texas.

The soldiers say they reacted to the HWY 8, west of the HWY 774, around 1:15 a.m. on Saturday. At the scene of the crime, they found that a car had crashed into a tree.

After their first examination, the soldiers found that Hickerson drove west on the Hwy 8 when he lost control of the vehicle for reasons that had not yet been best known, left the street and fell against a tree.

The authorities said that Hickerson was not wearing a seat belt, was seriously injured and was taken to a hospital in which he was declared dead.

The authorities said they had collected routine toxicological samples for analysis. Impairment is a suspected factor in crash.

An investigation continues.
