What active NBA players was Egor Demin compared? – Deseret News

It is inevitable.

Year after year, the prospects in advance for the NBA design and even for the design of the night are compared with previous and current professionals.

There is good reason for this. Most prospects are exactly what the prospects, which means that they have much not realized potential. Giving an insight into the realized potential of the players is a large part of what experts, scouts and other experts do.

Get an integrative look in the national championship season from BYU Football from 1984.

Sometimes successful, sometimes not so much.

Although the NBA draft from 2025 is still over a month, BYU has already received its appropriate share of pro comparisons, from rather established players to relative newcomers to NBA.

So far, the list has been and will grow.

EGOR DEMININ = DENI AVDIJA

Jonathan Givony from ESPN is at least the biggest name when it comes to the NBA design.

And based on Demins, physical measurements/performance in the NBA design combine is Givony's latest comparison for Demin Portland Trailblazer's Deni Avdija.

There is a lot to like about the comparison if you are a fan of Demin. Avdija was a lottery (No. 9) from the Washington Wizards in 2020, which was elaborated as a player for his potential. It took a few years and a trade with Portland, but Avdija has started to put this potential.

Last season he became a clear NBA starter player with an average of 16.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game, while he shot 47.6% from the field and 36.5% from the 3-point range.

Demin has all the potential means to be a rounded striker, and if he can develop into the type of shooter that Avdija has, there is no reason why Demin as a plus starter can no longer spend a decade or more in the NBA.

EGOR Demin = Josh Giddey

Several outlets believe that Demins is the best Pro comparison Chicago Bulls Guard/striker Josh Giddey.

NBA Draft Room, NBA Draft.net, Yahoo Sports and Hoops Hype, each connected with Giddey.

There is a reason for that.

Demin proved to be an unreliable DH inconsistenter 3-point shooter at the BYU, but a big and successful playmaker and Giddey has proven to be almost precise in the course of his four-year NBA career.

Giddey only shot the 3-point range for a season of 35%, in this past with the bulls. However, he has proven to be an excellent secondary playmaker who has an average of 6.1 assists per game in his career compared to only 2.7 sales per game.

The Oklahoma City Thunder ultimately decided that Giddey did not match her championship core after a disappointing exhibition in the playoffs of the past year, but the former No. 6 election was one of the best players in the bulls this year and could stand for a new contract that would play almost $ 30 million a year after the Bleacher report.

Demin is by Hoop's hype by at least one league as “sportier Josh Giddey, which is literally regarded his soil because his death is only so good,” writes Cyro Asseo de Choch.

EGOR Demin = Anthony Black

Kevin O'Connor from Yahoo Sports Association Demin with the Orlando Magic Guard Anthony Black.

Black, the No. 6 selection in the draft of 2023, was drawn in for its defensive and game potential as a 6-foot 7 watch.

For O'Connor, Demin has many of the same strengths as black and many of the same weaknesses.

“Demin has a rare ability to make dazzling passes,” writes O'Connor. “But he also has difficulty shooting against long defenders and creating his own shot, which makes him a pleasure or Hass-Him view than a safe thing.”

Black is still very early in his professional career, only two seasons spent magic. He shot much better out of the field than expected as a newcomer, while his game was quite unable to exist. During his second campaign, things turned when Black with his shootings – 47% of the field, 32% behind the arch – had to struggle powerfully, but increased his templates per game from 1.3 to 3.1 per game.

Black has not yet broken out in an offensive team, but he was drafted into because of his long -term potential, and it is still time for this potential to come into play.

At only 19 -year -old, Demin is also drawn in for his long -term potential, and immediate production is a blessing for the team with which he ends up.

EGOR Demin = Luka Dončić

This comparison is rather an absolutely best-case scenario situation for Demin, but since both players were played for Real Madrid Baloncesto before they made the connection more than once in the USA Kamen-Dončić directly to the NBA, Demin to Byu-Wurde.

It was last made at the combine harvester and Demin even spoke in.

“Luka is quite obvious – the big guards, the Passing – but obviously Luka Luka and EGOR is in a good way,” Demin told Sarah Todd of Deseret News. “I'm not trying to be like someone else, I just try to get pieces from different players and various personalities to build my own kind of project where I see myself in the future.”

While Dončić is seen as a top 5 player in the NBA in view of Dončić and has been a star since his arrival in the league, there is reason to understand the comparison.

Both players are big guards/wing-dončić at 6-foot-6, Demin with 6-foot 9, known for their skills for passing/playing.

Dončić is not the sportiest player, but does an exceptional annihilation and awareness. Demin was a similar player at BYU. Dončić has also not proven to be the best 3-point shooter, with a career average of 35%. And again Demins was the biggest knock against him.

If Demin Dončić comes around somewhere, it would be best to scenario situation, but the potential is there, hence the comparisons.
