Swimswams complete session recap

After inviting Olympic gold medalists during the 100 freestyle prelims on day 2 of the Longhorn Aquatics Elite Simone Manuel delivered in the final. She tore off a 53.11 to win the race that she shoots until the fifth of the world this season, a hundredth in front of her Mollie O'Callaghan.

Manuel remains the third fastest American behind this season Gretchen Walsh (52.90) and Torri Huske (52.95). She opened the race in 25.40 and then came back to 27.71 and improved from her morning splits of 25.72/28.08.

But the most important thing for Manuel was that this was her third fastest performance since her comeback, right behind the 53.09, which she swam in the prelims of the US Olympic exams and 53.10 from the Ca Nova Speedo Grand Challenge 2024. Manuel admitted that her performance in the FT. Lauderdale Pro Swim was not what she expected, how she felt like it [she] I had done a lot of good work ”before he found that everything was part of the process. And while the intensive training that she did not completely dismantle two weeks ago, it now seems to be less than one month up to the US members.

Behind her, Paris Olympian Erin Gemmell Inscribed closer to their lifelong best of 54.13 and improves from 54.91 in preparations to 54.38 in the final.

The explosive swimming continued throughout the session like Carson Foster Ended the night with one season best 3: 46.20 in the 400 freestyle of the men and beat a stacked field that contained Rex Maurer, Leon Marchand, David Johnston, And Luke Hobson. He was already the fastest American man 3: 46.42 from West Mont this season and improves his ninth world rankings over time. The 400 freestyle has been a weekend place for the US men for many years, and Foster announced as a legitimate threat of qualifying for a US squad place when he swam 3: 45.29 in Austin in July 2022. He focused on other events in 2023 and 2024, but when he continues to flirt with his personal best in the run -up to the US state, it intrudes whether he will run the event in Indianapolis.

Marchand quickly took the race and turned 53.23 with Hobson Second (53.86) and Foster third (54.11). The French superstar still had the lead at half -time (1: 50.53), while Foster took the second from Hobson. Foster stayed 0.24 seconds at 100 meters in front of Marchand. The piano ran hard when he split (29.70/30.04) on the final 100, which made it possible to take the lead through the last round.

However, Foster's job was not yet done because he had to hold a late increase from Maurer, the American record holder of 500 Yards freestyle. Maurer separated 28.15 to the closure of 50 meters and caught almost foster. He had no room to close the gap, but his 3: 46.52 is one personal best by a second and improved the 3: 47.63, which he swam in August 2023. He is the 10 nowTH The fastest in the world this season.

Marchand took third place in 3: 48.62 and took a few tenths of 3: 48.97 personally, he swam in Fort Lauderdale in this relatively new event for him. This weekend he drives for his qualifications of his worlds and has granted an exception to the French Federation, which enables him to qualify at a different meeting than the French national championships that are from June 14th to 19th. This swimming is located outside of France U23 Qualifying Standard in the 400 freestyle, which is 3: 47.91. But under French selection process, if Marchand is qualified for worlds, he could add events where there is space on the French squad.

Jillian CoxThe reigning 500 and 1650 yard freestyle NCAA champion has triumphed women in the 400 freestyle with a 4: 07.34 freestyle.

Hubert Kos We had a busy session with a 200 butterfly/100 -breast double. He won the 200 butterfly in a personal best 1: 56.07. The Swim makes him the fastest Hungarian this season and plays in front of the world record holder Kristof Milak'S 1: 56.13 from the Hungarian National Championship.

Kos has been burning since the NCAA championships, where he swept his individual events and broke two NCAA and US Open Records. After this meeting, Kos had only a short turnaround until the Hungarian national championships. He continued to impress and beat Milak in a head-to-head butterfly, where the Milak Olympic champion is, 50.42 to 50.67.

Kos confirmed this season as the fastest Hungarian 100 -breast breast after a 1: 02.26 lead. He improved this evening during this time and swam 1: 01.53 for another personal best. However, he was the winner of the event; Nate Germonprez fell swimming from his preliminaries for over three seconds and stormed to victory in 1-01.08.

GERMONPREZ had a Breast Breakout this season, and this swimming, which is less than a second from his 1: 00.48 best, could not come at a better time, as the Breastfield of American men is open this summer. He led from wire-to-wire wire and separated 28.51 to open the race and 32.57 on the back half.

Regan Smith I also went to work tonight and won a three-person 200 butterfly final. Smith is the American record holder and Olympic silver medalist in this event and scored a 2-07.18 to beat her teammates of the 2023 World Cup Lindsay Looney (2: 08.59) and Campbell Stoll (2: 12.58). Smith went 2: 05.38 in Fort Lauderdale two weeks ago when she won a fight against young stars Alex Shackell And Audrey Derivaux.

Shaine Casas' 48.88 in the 100 freestyle final was a little slower than his Prelims time of 48.64, but it was still enough to achieve victory. He was the only man in the field under 49 seconds as a hobson Swam 49.34 for second place in the first of his two events tonight. Casas was on fire on Pro Swim Series Circuit this spring and has positioned itself as a cadre in several events in front of the US members of the state. Chris GuilianoA Parisian Olympic finalist in this event scratched the final after he was able to swim 48.70 this morning.

Finally, Piper tight Defended their top seeds in the 100 -breast stroke of women tonight. Engine fell away from the preliminaries over a second and improved from 1: 10.88 to 1: 09.45 and was the only swimmer to break 1:12 in the final. In March 2024, Enge holds a lifelong best of 1: 07.27 of its achievement at Federal Way Sectionals.
